The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Stock Controller/ Allocator to manage the inventory levels within our Smokemart & GiftBox (SMGB) retail stores. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your retail knowledge and sound stock management skills to a fun and novel business that you can be proud to be a part of. Your strong communication, time management skills and ability to analyse stock trends will help you succeed in this role. Working closely with the Inventory Planning and Merchandise Buying Teams you will be responsible for managing the product mix within 250+ locations in line with SMGB’s core business objectives. Your fact-based decision making will ensure you are a strong voice for feedback between our stores and the Merchandise Buying Teams, balancing the key strategic requirements with our store network.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the right level of stock in the right stores and the right time
- Improve stock turns by utilising key reports to weigh stock volume to achieve improved sell through
- Monitor goods inwards process at store level and central DC
- Maintain and manage inventory levels for locally supplied and imported products
- Generate reports to support decision making for allocation process
- Targeted Allocation of Merchandise for new stores and catalogue / promo lines into stores
- Maintenance of stores minimum grid profiles to support the replenishment process
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand promotional activities and forecasted sales
- Review and manage stock transfers
- Attend weekly allocation overview meetings with Merchandise team
The Successful Candidate Will Possess:
- Experience in a similar role within in the retail industry with comprehensive stock management knowledge
- Excellent understanding of Merchandise Trends and sales analysis
- Strong planning and organisational skills to execute tasks and identify priorities
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent numeracy, accuracy and Microsoft excel skills
- To be customer focused
- Ability to think strategically
- Tertiary or Degree qualifications in a relevant field would be advantageous.
