6 month contract - Investment Analyst, Portfolio Construction
TCorp's Investment Management division constructs and manages client-centric investment portfolios for the NSW Government family. Through careful engagement with our clients, understanding their needs and bringing together our investment beliefs and comparative advantages, we deliver appropriately designed solutions. This results in the best possible risk adjusted performance for our clients.
Portfolio Construction (PC) has a six month contract opportunity for an Investment Analyst to join the team providing diversified portfolio investment research and analytical support to the Senior Portfolio Manager. The Investment Analyst will be expected to further develop the internal investment capability and knowledge of the PC team through advanced quantitative research, analysis, modelling, internal process improvement and other value add activities.
Key capabilities required to be considered include:
• Intermediate use of quantitative models, excel workbooks and one or more programming languages.
• Sound analytical and quantitative skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Client focussed mentality with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with investment teams, senior management and external parties (including clients).
• Evidence of quantitative portfolio modelling.
• Initiation and research to support client specific needs and portfolio risk management.
• Ability to take direction and work independently as well as in a team.
• Experience in analysis or management of Credit and Fixed Income investments (advantageous).
TCorp would like to hear from candidates with tertiary education in mathematics, statistics, actuarial, econometrics, engineering, computer science, applied quantitative finance or other quantitative disciplines and two to five years' experience in the investment industry. A strong quantitative background, including experience with Python and/or other quantitative programming languages, and experience with handling large sets of data in Excel is essential.
