Investment and Governance Analyst

About the role:
The position is responsible for controlling and implementing the investment governance framework, reviewing and evaluating all large capital investment programs and customer connection projects, as well as improving efficiency and reducing risk through the continual improvement of systems and processes.
What you’ll deliver:
Own and continually improve the capital investment governance framework for CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy.
Develop and control templates and standards for key deliverables e.g. business cases and economic assessments.
Understand and assist with the utilisation capital portfolio assessment tools and economic valuation to optimise our business’s asset base.
Partner with the business to define and continually challenge assessment criteria.
Partner with the business to drive high quality business cases and ensure clear messaging of investment proposals along with proactively managing the visibility of upcoming projects
Act as the Investment Committee secretary
Report on in-flight capital projects and monitor progress to ensure benefits are realised.
Drive the business to ensure post implementation reviews are completed for significant projects and learnings are shared amongst the business.
To succeed in the role, you’ll have:
Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or commerce.
Demonstrated work experience in accounting or finance role.
4-5 years of experience in a risk/governance role evaluating projects.
Proven ability to think strategically, and demonstrate an innovative approach to problem solving.
Intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Working knowledge of SAP (advantageous).
CPA/CA qualifications (advantageous).
