About the Role:
This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a technically skilled, and highly motivated IoT Systems Administrator to join our business in a full time and permanent role and work in a team that really makes a difference.
In this role you be responsible for providing operational support and continuous improvement initiatives for both the Victorian Power Network (VPN) and United Energy IoT Networks including our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems, Low Voltage Distributed Energy Resources Management System (LV DERMS), and other related technologies.
Supporting both internal and external customers, to improve business productivity and maximise external revenue across our network, you will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders including vendors and service providers to ensure ongoing success.
The role will initially be embedded in the dedicated LV DERMS project team to support the deployment and launch the system to production. Post go-live, the role will transition to the IoT System Services team, where you'll be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing the system's performance.
*Please note this role will require the successful candidate to participate in a 24x7 on-call roster to maintain system availability.
In this role you will deliver:
- Support the LV DERMS project team during the system's development and implementation into production.
- Provide application administration for AMI/IoT systems to maintain agreed service levels, such as availability and batch performance. Provide support to communications network monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Perform analysis, validation and make recommendations in relation to capacity and performance management of AMI/IoT systems and associated solutions
- Provide support to IoT device configuration/data management, testing and reporting.
- Facilitate and support the introduction of new and emerging AMI/IoT related technologies.
- Support the management of vendors and service provider performance in relation to defect management, technical, engineering and operational support
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in IT/Computer Science, or related discipline preferred
- Certifications and/or experience in application of ITIL frameworks while running and maintaining a 24x7 production environments desirable
- Strong demonstrated experience in application support managing incidents, changes and enhancements as well as excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong demonstrated experience in working with Linux systems, Oracle Database, Java applications, Kubernetes, NodeJS and Nagios
- Proficiency in Unix shell scripting, SQL and Java/Visual Studio programming advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in Commercial IT delivering value in an AMI/IoT Network management systems role advantageous
- Experience working with and troubleshooting language protocol-oriented solutions highly desirable
- Experience with IEEE2030.5, Modbus, and DNP3 language protocols advantageous
- Exposure to a wide range of IT hardware and software, including servers, workstations, LAN/WAN, firewalls, load balancers and SSL certificate management.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders, experience working in a multi-sourced environment required
- Demonstrated experience in an Energy and Electricity Utilities business highly regarded.
