Job description

Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing services to around 80,000 urban and rural customers along the Murray River. Our service region lies within the traditional lands of First Nations Peoples, starting from Barapa Barapa (Koondrook), travelling downstream along the Murray River through Latji Latji (Mildura) and flowing to Ngintait at the South Australian border. With over 200 staff located in and around Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang and Robinvale, our vision is for a healthy, sustainable water future. 

About the role:  

Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Irrigation Service Delivery, this is primarily a systems operator role with a focus on providing a high level of service to the customer. We are looking for a positive individual who will work as part of the team to facilitate the daily running of our irrigation systems and provide customer support in managing their water use. 

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: 

  • Efficient, reliable, and safe operation of our irrigation supply systems 
  • Positive engagement with our rural customers in managing their irrigation needs. 
  • Accurate and timely data entry for reporting purposes 
  • Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.  
  • Always represent LMW professionally

About you: 

We require a self-motivated person who is safety conscious and enjoys interacting with the community and is looking to work in a positive team environment. To be successful in this role, you will have the following:  

  • Good written & oral communication skills with great orientation to detail.   
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team with a positive attitude. 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities to accomplish desired outcomes. 
  • Understanding of how you work in a safe and effective manner.  
  • Engage with the public/customers and deal with difficult situations. 
  • Willingness to form part of an on-call roster. 
  • Current drivers’ licence  
  • Must have the right to work in Australia. 
  • Must be willing to undergo a national police check and pre-employment medical test.
