Form of workWe're seeking a highly motivated Irrigation Manager to join an award-winning Turf business with a great team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the turf receives the optimal amount of water to thrive, maximizing yield and quality, producing outstanding Turf.
Reporting to the Farm Manager you will be responsible for the smooth running of all lateral and pivot irrigation systems across the farm. The role calls for someone who understands the urgency of turf production, with an emphasis on forward planning.
About the Role:
- Oversee all aspects of irrigation systems, including maintenance, scheduling, and repairs.
- Monitor weather conditions and experience in soil moisture monitoring to create efficient watering schedules.
- Knowledge of irrigation computer apps and software to manage irrigation systems remotely.
- Implement sustainable water management practices to conserve resources.
- Identify and troubleshoot irrigation system issues, ensuring smooth operation.
- Maintain detailed records of water usage and system performance.
- Collaborate with the farm manager and assist in general farm work with other staff to optimize turf production
- Minimum 2 years' experience in irrigation management.
- Strong understanding of irrigation principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining irrigation and moisture monitoring equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license.
