Toowoomba Grammar School is looking for a qualified and experienced IT Applications BI and Reporting Coordinator to join our dynamic IT Department.  

About Toowoomba Grammar School

Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS).  It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12.  There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory.  The School’s campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

About the Position

The IT Applications BI and Reporting Coordinator is predominantly responsible for providing business intelligence (BI) and specialist application support and services to/for students, staff, and parents within a diverse technology environment.

This is a middle leadership role, with responsibility for coordinating and supervising staff involved in  all aspects of TGS’s BI/Reporting and Application Portfolio, including Application/Reporting Lifecycle Management (ALM), and providing level 2/3 application support and BI requests or incidents.

As IT Applications BI and Reporting Coordinator, you will collaborate with departments across the School to manage their systems, data and Reporting requirements, and engage with stakeholders to identify and quantify automation opportunities where they exist.

Reporting and communicating Application/BI activities through the Director of IT to the Executive, is an important part of this role. The role is also responsible for regular meetings with the senior technical staff to maintain strong service deliverables.

Selection Criteria:

Tertiary Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in education, business, or information technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, demonstrating a proven track record in coordinating BI and Reporting functions.
  • Microsoft Power Apps and Power BI certification/s (or equivalent).
  • Experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) projects/implementations and BI projects/implementations.
  • Strong SharePoint administration/development knowledge.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modelling, and data cleansing.

Leadership and Collaboration:  Demonstrated experience in a leadership role as a Senior Data Analyst, including coordinating and supervising staff and an ability to collaborate with departments across the school to manage systems, data, and Reporting requirements.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and experience using statistical analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., PowerBI) and demonstrated ability to conduct business process modelling, mapping, and re-engineering.

Service Orientation:  Strong service-oriented work ethic and ability to provide solutions independently and an ability to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders of the School.

Project Management:  Experience in Application/Reporting Lifecycle Management (ALM), and participating in IT projects, transition activities, and system administration tasks.

Continuous Improvement:  Commitment to continual Professional Improvement and training and demonstrated ability to assess and implement processes to improve services and address recurring problems.

Innovation and Learning Mindset:  Have a learning mindset and collaborate your learnings with others and a desire to stay up-to-date on technology and BI needs and changes across the School.
