About the role
Reporting to the IT Manager, the Business Analyst will be instrumental in achieving business outcomes in a digital environment. This role involves supporting project teams delivering core business applications and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Southern Ports are embracing new digital technologies to modernise our workplace, which require a Business Analyst who will work closely with project teams and the wider organisation to define, scope and document requirements. The Business Analyst will need to have the ability to run requirement workshops, document business requirements and business processes, develop functional specifications and propose solutions
Key Responsibilities
- Identify stakeholders, define business requirements, and outline performance expectations.
- Facilitate workshops, plan and estimate activities, and build business cases.
- Analyse problems, opportunities, and propose technology solutions.
- Document current and future processes, develop business process maps, and visualize process changes.
- Contribute to digital innovation, testing, and implementation of new tools and applications.
- Manage vendor relationships, contribute to fostering a culture of innovation, and ensure compliance with governance requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform analysis, outlining problems, opportunities, and technology solutions.
- Identify issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
- Contribute actively to fostering a culture of innovation in Southern Ports and facilitating a operating model that fosters collaboration, with IT as a Key Enabler and Strategic Partner across the organisation.
- Provide assistance in the development of business systems roadmaps.
- Ensure support documentation is up to date and relevant.
Experience and Requirements
- Degree Qualified, Project Management Certification, WA Driver’s License
- Minimum of 3 years Business Analyst experience, with 5 Years Business Analyst experience preferred
- 3 years’ experience working within project teams
- Project management support and development of status reports.

Requirements
To be eligible for this 2-year fixed term full-time role, applicants must provide proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
The successful applicant must have a current WA driver’s license, be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Access Card and undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing.
