Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd, is Australia's largest Tin producer. Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin mine now entering an exciting redevelopment period. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania's beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.

It is an exciting time at the Renison underground mine which has recently announced its Life of Mine plan outlining a strong resource plan for the next 10 years. Renison is embarking on a progressive improvement journey to challenge the way we work and optimise our operations.
About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful IT team member, preferably with mining experience, capable of delivering and providing a variety of required IT technical administration and support services across site to join our friendly & inclusive team. The role requires quick diagnosis and resolution of IT service requests and incidents.
The roster can be offered on a 5 days on 2 days off or a 8 days on 6 days off roster located at our Burnie office and or at Renison Bell mine site.
The position will be reporting to the ICT Superintendent and be responsible for providing data management services along with IT support to mine site operations, Village complex and Burnie corporate office while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and company safety, health and environmental standards and procedures.
Core responsibilities
- Accountable for maintaining system support and 24-hour information technology across sites including procuring, installing, administering and configuring applications and Infrastructure.
- Responsible for administering and assisting site IT capital purchases.
- Responsible for end user engagement and resolving IT support tickets
- Accountable for maintaining site backups, audit logs, network monitoring and telephony systems
- ERP (Pronto) administration
- Accountable for the management of site network infrastructure, internet services and WIFI
- Accountable for weekly KPI reporting, and progress updates reporting.
- Accountable for reviewing and managing updates to desktops, laptops, servers and network infrastructure.
- On an adhoc basis you will be responsible for providing after hours support.
- Ensure backup integrity and Disaster Recovery scenarios.
- Audit, monitor and respond to Application and Infrastructure health.
You will have completed a Certificate IV of Information Technology (or equivalent), have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience and be professional and courteous. Have a thorough understanding of end user compute, servers and networks Infrastructure administration, include but not limited to network structure planning, installation, controlling and management; Windows AD, DHCP, GPO's, DNS, and Radius; Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security; Experience with server management and configuration, including disaster recovery plan and backup plan design and implementation; and proficient in Microsoft products, including Windows Server 2012-19, Windows 10, Microsoft365 (Office, Azure, Sharepoint and Exchange); Experience in Virtual server environments (Hyper-V and Nutanix); and experience with Ubiquiti and Fortinet product suites.
Whilst not essential, a Microsoft Certified Professional or Cisco Certified Network Associate would be advantageous.
To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to communicate with users who have differing levels of technical understanding and expertise.
