We are looking for a great IT infrastructure engineer (Server) for a newly created position.
In the position of Server Engineer, you will be working with and supporting other server engineers and are responsible for supporting the ongoing operation and maintenance of the affiliate’s server in the ANZ region.
You will be part of a small team in Australia office to monitor HMG server and storage, handle local technical issues and customer complaints, enforce global policies, and inspect and replace faulty hardware.
Technical Tasks/Responsibilities
- Operate and Troubleshoot HMG Systems:
- Manage and maintain HMG's operating systems (Linux, Windows, Hypervisor).
- Ensure the smooth operation of servers, storage, and backup systems.
- Diagnose and resolve system and hardware issues promptly.
- Hardware Management:
- Perform regular visual inspections of hardware components.
- Replace faulty hardware to maintain system integrity and performance.
- OS and Security Maintenance:
- Keep operating systems updated according to HAE security policies.
- Apply and test security patches, especially after vulnerability announcements or monthly updates.
- Global Infrastructure Policy Enforcement:
- Collaborate with HAE HQ staff to implement and enforce HMG Group's global infrastructure standards.
- Local Technical Support:
- Address and resolve local technical problems and customer complaints (VOCs).
- Provide timely and effective technical support to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Service Quality Improvement:
- Communicate with local service providers and customers to understand and meet service quality requirements.
- Proactively seek ways to improve local service quality.
- Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond to system failures during non-working hours, including nights and holidays, as necessary.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software, IT, Electric or any related field
- 3+ years of experience in Server (Linux, Window, VM), HW Administration
- Strong knowledge of systems, such as Window/Linux/Vmware/hyper-v/HP & Dell server
- Experience using and operating backup and monitoring solutions.
- Need a basic understanding of infrastructure (Server, Network, Middleware, Database, etc.)
- The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Business travel required across Sydney area or abroad in New Zealand
- An Australian driving license with a good record and experience is essential
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with our customers, partners and Head office in South Korea (Korean speaking is an advantage but not essential)
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, manage and prioritise a varied workload
