SalaryLocation: Brisbane, QueenslandOur valued client, operating within the energy sector and spanning across multiple sites in Queensland, is seeking an experienced IT Manager to join and manage their team in Brisbane.Role Overview: As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the IT operations, managing a small team, and ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems across various sites. You will play a pivotal role in driving IT strategy, managing budgets, implementing system changes, and leading cross-functional projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the ongoing operations of the IT function, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Supervise the procurement and management of software and hardware assets.
- Lead and integrate cross-functional IT projects into the business.
- Manage databases, including SQL, with familiarity in MS Access.
- Implement security protocols, encryption, and threat detection measures.
- Prepare annual operational budgets and recommend resource levels.
- Manage profitability through infrastructure and IT capital expenditure.
- Make recommendations for IT goods and services procurement.
- Monitor financial viability of programs within budgetary constraints.
- Oversee telephony systems and maintenance processes.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Ensure vendors meet agreed-upon service levels through SLAs.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology or related field.
- Proven track record in IT project management.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in IT management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Experience in retail POS systems is highly desirable.
- Proficient in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and server management.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Visual Basic, PowerShell).
- Strong strategic focus with LAN & WAN knowledge.
- Experience in Microsoft-based environments, including Office365, Azure AD, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
