About the Role: 

As the IT Security Specialist, you will be an integral part of a specialised team playing a vital role in facilitating the attainment of Certification and Accreditation for various systems. You will develop, submit, and maintain a comprehensive suite of ICT security policies for all operational systems overseen by the team.

Responsibilities: 

• Develop and deploy an information security management system to ensure compliance with relevant industry frameworks (e.g., ISO27001, SOC2, CyberGRX etc.)
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Monitor security events and incidents, investigate security breaches, and respond to security alerts in a timely manner.
• Manage and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and endpoint security solutions.
• Provide security awareness training and education to our staff, contractors & partners.
• Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

About you: 

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an IT Security Specialist or in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Led or helped your organization through certifications e.g., ISO 27001
• Strong background in Infrastructure management, preferably with Microsoft certifications.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, Intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), DLP, and endpoint security solutions.
• Proficiency in performing security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
