OVERVIEW
The Assembly’s objective is to promote the self-determination and empowerment of Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians in the Treaty process, including by:
- Acting as the First Peoples’ Representative Body to negotiate and agree Statewide Treaty and Interim Agreements,
- Acting as the Aboriginal Representative Body to support Treaty negotiations (including administering the Self-Determination Fund),
- Enabling Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians to exercise sovereignty, the right to self-determination and other rights; including those contained in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
This role is responsible for supporting the Assembly’s information technology systems and infrastructure. They will work with staff and Members to ensure all technical support queries are resolved in a timely manner and also liaise with the Assembly’s Managed Service Provider to ensure that the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems are efficient and effective.
Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Develop and implement user training and orientation on the Assembly’s IT systems, hardware, and applications.
- Triage all IT requests, escalating advanced IT requests to the Assembly’s Managed Services Provider.
- Provide simple technical assistance and support to end users regarding mobile phones, AV in meeting rooms, computer systems, software applications, and network connectivity.
- Ensure all new starters are set-up appropriately and provided simple onboarding training.
- Ensure all exiting staff return their IT equipment and are offboarded appropriately.
Assembly Internet Systems Maintenance
- Develop and maintain the Assembly’s SharePoint platform, with a specific focus on the Members’ portal.
- Ensure the Members’ portal is user-friendly, up-to-date, and accessible to all Members.
- Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data within SharePoint.
- Develop and maintain the staff intranet, providing a centralised hub for internal communication and information sharing.
- Monitor user feedback and incorporate improvements based on user needs.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures.
- Manage registers on staff hardware and software.
- Assist Assembly Managed Service Providers in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
IT Procurement
- Assist in the evaluation, selection, and installation of hardware and software upgrades.
- Manage the Assembly’s Apple Business Manager as appropriate.
- Manage IT assets, including AV, mobile phones and laptops.
Security
- Manage and maintain the Assembly’s security management systems including:
- CCTV management
- Security alarms
- Garage and Front door pass management
- TITAN management system
MSP Liaison
- Liaise with the Assembly’s Managed Service Providers regarding:
- Network Administration
- Data Backup and Recovery
- System Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (highly desired).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, including the talent to clarify technical terminology to non-experts in IT.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Specific knowledge of Microsoft systems, Apple hardware and systems, CRMs, and Microsoft Sharepoint is desirable.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal Communities and organisations within Victoria.
- Demonstrated skill and capacity to work effectively and with integrity in the context of a Victorian First Peoples’ Representative Body.d).
Salary from $73,842 (full-time equivalent) plus salary packaging, and superannuation, based on experience and expertise
