Jobs/Responsibilities

Reporting to the IT Operations Team Leader, this position is responsible for providing first-line support to Council staff, Councillors and customers for Information Technology’s desktops, servers, network, applications and general technology. This includes:

• Providing telephone based and face-to-face first level (Helpdesk) support and training to all Council staff, sites and Councillors on Council’s desktop, VOIP, mobile and related applications and other general IT infrastructure.
• Ensure operational maintenance tasks, including backups, patching, and imaging are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor Information Technology Helpdesk ticket queues ensuring adherence to in-place service levels.
• Manage support databases and information systems to support the operation of Council’s Information Technology.

Skills/Experience

To be successful in this position you will need:

• Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience working with, and troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 and Windows desktops and applications.
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks.
• To be an enthusiastic champion of technology and its ability to drive improvements in work processes and environments.
• To be a positive person who thrives on collaboration and communication, seeing these as essential to building a good team environment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal records check.
