Jobs/Responsibilities
Reporting to the IT Operations Team Leader, this position is responsible for providing first-line support to Council staff, Councillors and customers for Information Technology’s desktops, servers, network, applications and general technology. This includes:
- Providing telephone based and face-to-face first level (Helpdesk) support and training to all Council staff, sites and Councillors on Council’s desktop, VOIP, mobile and related applications and other general IT infrastructure.
- Ensure operational maintenance tasks, including backups, patching, and imaging are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor Information Technology Helpdesk ticket queues ensuring adherence to in-place service levels.
- Manage support databases and information systems to support the operation of Council’s Information Technology.

Skills/Experience
To be successful in this position you will need:
- Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working with, and troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 and Windows desktops and applications.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks.
- To be an enthusiastic champion of technology and its ability to drive improvements in work processes and environments.
- To be a positive person who thrives on collaboration and communication, seeing these as essential to building a good team environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal records check.
