Title: ITIL Asset and Configuration Manager

The Role
We are seeking an Expression of Interest from an experienced ITIL Asset and Configuration Manager to oversee the management, control, and governance of IT assets and Configurations within our organisation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ITIL principles and practices, particularly in the areas of asset management, configuration management, and change management. The candidate should also have Defence experience and be able to work with limited direction, we are looking for a skilled self starter.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to:
Develop, implement, and maintain IT asset management policies, procedures, and processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.
Manage the lifecycle of all IT assets, including planning, procurement, deployment, tracking, and retirement/disposal.
Establish and maintain a configuration management database (CMDB) to accurately record and manage configuration items (CIs) and their relationships.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of the CMDB by performing regular audits, updates, and reconciliations.
Collaborate with various IT teams to capture and document configuration changes, maintaining the integrity of the CMDB and providing accurate configuration information.
Facilitate and lead configuration control board (CCB) meetings to review and approve changes to configuration items.
Analyse and report on Asset and Configuration data to support decision-making, compliance, and optimisation efforts.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in Asset and Configuration management.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration or similar qualifications
Eligible for Eligible for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearance.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance, NV1 or greater.
ITIL Foundation certification or higher, with proven experience in ITIL-based Asset and Configuration management.
Proficiency in utilising asset management tools and CMDB platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, etc.).
Strong understanding of configuration management principles and experience in maintaining a CMDB.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed recommendations.
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Prior experience in change management and a good understanding of IT service management (ITSM) processes is a plus.
Ability to work within a team environment, with the potential to lead a team as the work grows.
