AddressTaylor Group Media is seeking a talented journalist to join
the Murray Pioneer, providing news relevant to the Riverland
region.
The successful applicant should have the demonstrated
ability to pitch, research and deliver high-quality, engaging
content, and be deadline-driven and highly organised. The
role requires a tertiary qualified journalist (or near completion)
who has strong ethics and a desire to cover breaking news
as well as generate original stories. A significant amount of
responsibility is involved, so newsroom experience would be
looked upon favourably.

What the role involves:
• Generating, researching and developing engaging
stories on a wide range of issues.
• Delivering content that is relevant to existing
audiences and attracts new readers.
• Meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Using initiative to find new stories and identify fresh
angles to take issues further.
• Taking high-quality photos to accompany stories.
Qualities you need
• Tertiary qualification in journalism and on-the-job
experience.
• High-level research and communication skills, with the
ability to build rapport easily.
• Intrinsic motivation to pursue challenges and exceed
expectations.
• Strong news judgement, with a commitment to ethics
and accuracy.
• Self-motivation and high levels of organisation and
time management.
• An eye for detail and ability to remain calm and
focused under pressure.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and reliable car.
