About us
Murray Bridge News is an independent, family-owned news service based in South Australia's Murraylands. We publish stories about what’s happening locally in a weekly email edition, online and via digital signage in the community. We also publish a quarterly magazine, Murraylands Life.
Our mission is to:

Murray Bridge News co-owner and managing editor Peri Strathearn is an award-winning journalist who has lived and reported the news in the Murraylands since 2012.
About you
You want to use your skills to serve the community.
You write news stories to a high standard. You take well-composed photos and shoot video, too. You might have qualifications or experience in journalism or a related field, or you might be a natural storyteller with a passion for news.
You have a connection to the Murraylands, or you're enthusiastic about becoming part of the community.
You can strike up conversations with people from all walks of life, understand and articulate their points of view, and build relationships with them over time. You're a quick learner who can follow directions and take the initiative when needed. You hit your deadlines. You're trustworthy and easy to get along with.
Responsibilities
- Write news stories, headlines and captions
- Take photos and videos
- Interview people, and keep an accurate record of interviews
- Find, assess and use sources of information
- Build relationships with local contacts and the community at large
- Work independently, managing competing priorities and deadlines
- Assist the managing editor as required, including at public events
- Work safely, ethically and in accordance with Murray Bridge News' mission
- Be professional, upholding Murray Bridge News' reputation in the community at all times
Requirements
- Ability to write news stories to a high standard

- Drivers' licence
