Storr & Co Accountants and Business Advisors is a boutique accounting firm located in Merewether. We provide a wide-range of services to a variety of business clients and high net wealth individuals.
We work together with our clients, complimenting their skills by providing the financial strategy and knowledge to support their success. In doing so, we help them see beyond the numbers.
Due to our growth as a business, we have two entry-level positions available where, depending on your career path, you will either be trained to become an accountant or accounting Administration Support.
About the Position
Our ideal candidate will have completed the Higher School Certificate in 2023 and either commencing study towards a Bachelor of Commerce degree with the University of Newcastle or have career aspirations in administration.
As this is a full time position you will be working at our firm while you study towards your degree on a part time basis.
Our new team member will need to be comfortable with working independently and not afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone. However, this does not mean help and advice is not close at hand! We will offer opportunities for advancement and training depending on your career path.
Responsibilities & duties:
• Setting up client work papers and package processing for senior accountants;
• Corporate secretarial administration;
• General administration;
• Excellent written and verbal communication are essential;
Key competencies and skills:
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work under pressure;
• Adaptable, able to work to deadlines and demonstrate initiative;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Proactive with a positive attitude and professional work ethic.
Previous experience in public practice is not a requirement for this role as we will be providing you with on the job training.
