As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic and analytical Merchandise Junior Planner to join our team at the Head Office.
The Role: As a Merchandise Junior Planner, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Retail Team by developing and maintaining merchandise plans. You will be responsible for sales and size break analysis, reporting, forecasting, and planning stock requirements to meet the business’s financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting:
- Deliver weekly, monthly, and end-of-season reports.
- Work with the Merchandise team to ensure end-of-season reports with a full image library are available for future buying decisions.
- Complete other ad hoc reporting as required by the business.
- Size Curve Management:
- Analyze historical sales to identify trends in sizes purchased across different demographics and seasons.
- Monitor size curves and feedback any size-related issues and opportunities to management for improvement.
- Collaborate with the Production Buyer and Merchandise Planner to review and adjust size breaks based on data analysis and store feedback.
- Pre-Season and End-of-Season Review:
- Assist the Head of Department and GM in developing pre-season goal strategies and timelines.
- Draft pre-season plans outlining objectives and action steps that align with the company’s direction to meet targets.
- Lead the end-of-season review process by gathering feedback and performance data.
- OTB Management:
- Plan end-to-end for the Roler brand and report to the Head of Department.
- Create a seasonal sales plan via a bottom-up approach.
- Manage inventory, analyze opportunities and risks, and work with the Merchandise Planner on markdown strategies and promotional plans.
- Ad Hoc and Planner Assistance:
- Work with the Merchandise Planner on ad hoc analysis, reporting, and data requests as required.
- Assist in stock allocation and consolidation during peak trading times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential:
- Understanding of a high-volume, high-turnover retail environment.
- Highly analytical with intermediate Excel skills.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Detail and goal-oriented, positive, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive.
- Desirable:
- Degree in Business or Retail Management.
