We are looking for a passionate and committed Junior Agronomist to join our expanding team. The successful candidate should be a strong team player who makes sure everything from campaigns and events to research gets done on time.
The role
You will provide support and learn the current methods for determining and sourcing the best products and practices to support optimal growth in agricultural crops. From pre planting agronomy through to harvest, you will assist with soil testing, result interpretation and dissemination of advice to determine and implement the appropriate chemicals, fertilisers and application techniques for the nut crops.
The role will include (but not be limited to):
- Evaluate farmer issues related to pathogens, insect pests, nematodes, weeds, and diseases
- Participate and coordinate fumigation applications to control issues effecting the crop
- Assist the Operations Team with the implementation of all agronomy activities
- Participate and coordinate fumigation applications
- Assist with yield assessments and estimates
- Evaluation of fumigation results - analysing and reporting of pre- and post-harvest conditions
- Testing new application equipment
- Soil testing and chemical preparation for solving agricultural problems and R&D
- Advising farmers on techniques to improve production – Planning and implementing efficient systems
- Accurate crop recording maintain data collection and management processes including entering acquired data into database
- Soil testing and chemical preparation

- Drafting scientific trial protocols and preparing data summaries, reports, analysis that include results, charts, and graphs to document research findings and trend results.
