Our clients are a progressive family-owned broad-acre cropping business comprising 4 properties close to Crooble/Croppa Creek NSW, 65km to Moree and 85km to Goondiwindi. Covering 1650ha, this productive business focuses on broadacre dryland cereals of wheat, barley, chickpeas, and sorghum, along with a small Angus beef herd.
The Role
They are seeking a junior Farm Hand to join the team. This role doesn’t require any prior farming experience. Induction and training are paramount at Gilgrain Farms, and as a result, the candidate will become a well-rounded, skilled and valued employee.
The junior Farm Hand will be working under the guidance of an operations manager and 2IC. Duties include operating and maintaining plant and equipment, planting and harvesting winter and summer crops, fallow and in-crop spraying, in and out loading grain at the solo complex, repairs and maintenance of buildings, fences, and other structures. Technology is utilised daily, including GPS navigation, iPad and farming apps such as AgWorld and FarmSimple.
