Role Overview:
As a Junior Draftsperson, you will play a vital role in the design and production process, contributing to the creation of detailed technical drawings and plans for shade sail structures. Utilising computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop accurate and precise drawings, your responsibilities will include collaborating with the design team to understand project requirements, incorporating design modifications, and ensuring the adherence to industry standards and regulations. This role provides opportunity to apply your drafting skills in an innovative industry, contributing to the development of functional and aesthetically pleasing shade solutions. Additionally, you will have the chance to expand your knowledge of construction principles, building codes, and materials, making this position ideal for someone eager to learn and grow within the shade sail business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create detailed technical drawings and plans for shade sail installations.
• Utilise computer-aided design (CAD) software for drafting and modelling.
• Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to understand project requirements.
• Review and incorporate markups and redline changes into drawings.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings in adherence to project specifications.
• Maintain organised and up-to-date drawing files and documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on design modifications.
• Learn and apply industry standards and regulations related to drafting.
• Assist in the preparation of material lists and cost estimates.
• Seek guidance and mentorship from senior team members to enhance drafting skills.
About you:
• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and precision in drafting.
• Basic understanding of construction and engineering principles.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry practices.
• Time management skills to meet project deadlines.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards is a plus.
• Previous internship or coursework related to drafting is advantageous.
