We are looking for a unique passionate and driven individual to become a part of our Estimating team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a bachelor’s in civil engineering.
This role is a key position in the business and requires someone with passion, determination and a proactive nature that will strive in a team orientated, positive working environment.
The role is fast paced, multi-faceted and will see candidates over a diverse range of construction methods and products. As a Junior Estimator, you will work closely with our estimating team to assist in preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial, civil and construction projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing plans, attending site inspections, and compiling take-offs and costings for projects of varying sizes and complexities
- Develop construction or civil methodologies.
- Analyze project specifications and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals for commercial construction projects.
- Assistance with costing of variations during project delivery
- Consult with clients, vendors, designers, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Obtain quotes and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify cost trends to assist management.
- Handover to construction team on successful tenders/estimates
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Previous experience in construction estimating or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and grow in the construction industry.
- Ability to build strong relationships and foster long-term partnerships.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet urgent deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
