Job Description
We are seeking a talented and self-organised individual for Automation Estimation and System Design to join our team in South Melbourne. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and designing automation systems tailored to our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both estimation and system design within the automation industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop accurate cost estimates for automation projects, including equipment, materials, labour, and overhead expenses.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to gather necessary information and ensure thorough understanding of project requirements.
- Analyse project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to determine scope of work and identify potential challenges or opportunities.
- Utilise industry knowledge and best practices to develop innovative and cost-effective automation solutions for clients.
- Prepare and present detailed proposals, including cost breakdowns and project timelines, to clients.
- Oversee the design and development of automation systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, construction or related field.
- Proven skills in automation estimation system design, preferably in the commercial building automation sector.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately assess project requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools for estimation and design (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio, Revit, BlueBeam, estimation/markup software).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in liaising with customers to ensure timely responses and accurate understanding.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Certification or training in automation technologies (e.g., DALI, KNX, CEDIA, Control4, Crestron) is a plus.
