About the Role
JBS Australia is currently recruiting a Junior Financial Accountant to join the Group Finance Team. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, the Junior Financial Accountant will provide support and assistance to manage the integrity of the Group General Ledger, whilst ensuring all internal and external reporting deadlines are met.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in our Brisbane CBD Corporate Office and is ideal for someone looking to develop their Financial Accounting career within a large-scale, multi-site, global organisation.
Your responsibilities:
- Monitoring the system of controls, procedures and forms for management of fixed assets and leases
- Supporting the preparation and compilation of the capital expenditure budget
- Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of month-end closing activities of the fixed assets and lease sub ledger
- Assisting with the month end financial close process
- Assisting with reporting, forecasting and analysis
- Assisting with internal and external audits
- Ensuring full compliance with relevant accounting policies and standards
- Ensuring all internal and external reporting deadlines are met
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline
- CA/CPA qualifications or studying towards
- Strong computer literacy, including Intermediate level of MS Excel
- Previous experience working in a similar fast-paced accounting environment advantageous
- Previous exposure to a similar Financial Accounting role advantageous
- Working knowledge of QlikSense (QlikView) advantageous
- Working knowledge of SAP and BPC advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure, as well as prioritize tasks and be able to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills
- Maintains a “can do” proactive attitude with the capability to adapt to changing priorities
