A market leader with extensive manufacturing operations in Australia and a portfolio of category leading brands and products, they have created a key new role to drive the success of the innovation pipeline for consumer Building Products which you'll find in the major hardware stores. This category sits at the intersction of FMCG (consumer and insights led innovation, great brands and retail sales channels) and industrial and building (functional, practical, engineering led, well-designed products).
About the role
This is a new role that will work closely with a National team of marketing, product, and engineering people to drive the innovaiton pipeline through a rigorous and structured stage and gate process. You'll own the product and technology roadmap, rationalising and curating it based on category and business objectives. You'll be the subject matter expert with respect to governance and project management fundamentals, which means you'll be organised, commercially and value minded, a natural risk manager, and a driver of change without necessarily having authority. You'll manage a product design engineer, helping you bring things to reality more readily.
About you
We're looking for someone who has a background delivering NPD projects within large organisations that have rigorous and robust systems and processes (such as the stage and gate process) - this isn't a small business, so you'll know how to satisfy the needs of the system while also knowing how to expedite within it when it is required. You'll know how to get people together and mobilise them behind a project, how to manage and leverage the expertise of suppliers, to drive outcomes that are focused on the consumer while also maximising the commercial interests of the business. Chances are, you've worked as an NPD Manager or an NPD Project Manager in the past, who has worked with a technical product range - if you're an engineer by qualification, even better.
