Junior Payroll Officer

The Opportunity
As a Junior Payroll Officer, your role will involve supporting the payroll team in accurately and efficiently processing employee payments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining payroll records. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong attention to detail and a desire to learn and develop within the payroll profession.
Key Accountabilities

• Maintain and update employee payroll records with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
• Input and process payroll data meticulously, covering employee hours, leave, bonuses, and deductions.
• Validate and reconcile time and attendance records to ensure precision in payroll calculations.
• Generate and distribute required payroll reports according to management needs.
• Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
• Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
• Stay abreast of local, state, and federal payroll regulations, ensuring strict compliance with payroll practices.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects and initiatives as required.

Your Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent qualifications; relevant coursework in accounting, finance, or business is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of payroll principles and regulations
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Previous experience or internships in payroll or related fields are advantageous.
