Working with an experienced payroll team you will be responsible for day to day payroll administration along with ongoing reporting and compliance checks for a lartge retail organisation.
The role will give you the opportunity to develop your Australian and New Zealand payroll experience building from an administraion and new starter focus to owning your own payroll processing on a weekly basis.
You will have previous experience in supporting a payroll team or processing a small payroll on a regular basis. You will have an understanding on ADP Payforce or similar payroll systems and your strong attention to details will be key in your ongoing performance in the role.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Completing all onboarding for new starters for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring they are set up within tight timeframes.
- Regular reporting and compliance checks on timesheets for retail stores and other legilative payroll compliance
- Checking all overtime, allowances and special pay types for weekly payroll.
- Working with the team to complete end to end payroll for approx.2,000 Australian and New Zealand based staff on a weekly/fortnightly/monthly basis.
- First point of contact for the payroll team in relation to payroll queries
- Developing your interpretation of various modern awards and contracts to ensure legislative compliance requirements
- Updating and maintaining Payroll and HR records via the HRIS along with including general administration, ensuring confidentiality and privacy of information at all times
- Assisting with all statutory reporting and third party payment
- Assisting with Workers Compensation processing and reconciliation
- Assist with processing and management of leave reconciliation
- Assist Preparing PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, IRD and other third party payments, as directed by the Payroll Manager
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge to interpret Awards and understanding of Payroll systems, legislations and processes;
- ADP Payforce and Kronos time and attendance knowledge highly desirable
- Exceptional numerical ability and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage workload and meet deadline
- Excellent Microsoft Suite incl. Excel Skills
- Ability to build and develop rapport with both internal and external customers
- Relevant Education within the Human Resource/Accounting or related discipline
