The Role

Pembroke is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced individual to undertake the fixed term, part time role of Junior School Art Assistant. Reporting to the Head of the Junior School, this role is responsible for providing a high level of assistance and support to Junior School Visual Arts, Music and Drama teachers in delivery of the Arts curriculum. This role is for Term 2, 2024. Rostered hours will be negotiated and agreed with the Head of Junior School.

What the role will involve

  • Provide assistance to individuals or small groups of students
  • Assist with sourcing and preparation of information and teaching materials, equipment and other aids
  • Maintain the Art Room, including repairing and storing equipment
  • Assist with production of music concerts, music displays and drama productions
  • Assist with general administration.

What we are looking for

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when relating to Junior School aged students 
  • A proactive person who welcomes and encourages collaboration with others, able to work as part of a team or independently
  • Ability to work and remain organised under pressure, prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines using effective time management skills.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, adaptable, efficient and possess the ability to work without supervision.
  • An interest in the visual arts, music and/or drama and enthusiasm for its inclusion in the curriculum for Junior School aged students
  • Current or previous experience in a primary school environment will be well regarded.
