As a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, Penrhos Junior School is currently entering an exciting new phase. Following a period of successful strategic growth we are thrilled to announce serval opportunities for caring and innovative teachers to join our established team. 

We are therefore seeking expressions of interest for Junior School and Early Learning Years teachers to commence in Term 1 2025.

We are looking for experienced educators with passion, drive and a positive mindset. As a teacher at Penrhos, you will play a significant role in planning, delivering and reflecting on the learning experiences in your classroom, whilst honouring student agency and fostering a love of learning. All members of our school community are encouraged to find the fun in each day – together, we celebrate the joy of curiosity, exploration and discovery in building learning adventures for life.

The successful applicants will have:
  • A Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Masters in Education, or Post Graduate Diploma of Education
  • Current Teacher Registration Board of WA Membership including a Working with Children card (WWC)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Commitment to the College’s Core Shared values of Respect, Integrity, Empathy, Knowledge, Growth and Synergy
  • Commitment to the safeguarding of students and providing a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment. 

The following essential criteria must be addressed with evidence in your cover letter:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching within the Early Years and/or Primary years
  • Excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and/or the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards 
  • An understanding of current and future trends in curriculum development and an inquiry pedagogy
  • Ability to integrate Information Technology skills into the curriculum as a tool for learning
  • Ability to maintain and develop professional and positive parent relationships
  • Commitment to the College’s Core shared values of Respect, Integrity, Empathy, Knowledge, Growth and Synergy
  • Ability to reflect on your own professional performance and work collaboratively in a team
  • A commitment to the safeguarding of students and the promotion of student welfare.
