About the role:
The Junior Settlements Analyst ensures accurate & timely delivery of Treasury trades in Alinta Energy’s trading system. This role also provides data into Alinta’s general ledger for further reporting, and to the accounting and treasury teams. Collaboration with other business areas and external partners is essential for smooth operations.
In this role, you’ll be:
Validate trade details between brokers & the trading system to create contracts for settlement
Invoicing – both payable and receivable
Settlement of Trades: Ensure settlement deliverables are paid/received as per the contracted terms via Alinta’s systems as well as monitoring aging receivables
Accruals and Journals: Preparation of monthly accruals for open trades, premium amortisations, intercompany transactions, brokerage, commissions, interest etc
Understand general accounting principles for engaging with the accounting teams and understanding end-to-end processes
Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:
Recent graduate in commerce, business, economics, mathematics, or related field
Strong communication skills and an analytical mindset
Fabulous team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment
Organisation and prioritisation with workload
An all-round go-getter with a strong motivation to learn
