The Technical Writer role will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and refining operational guides and resources to support and enhance the consistent delivery of high-quality services for our veterans and their families.
Sitting within our Veteran Services, Service Operations, this role will allow for creativity how information is delivered to ensure its is useful, relevant and accessible for the Veteran Services Department.
Reporting to the Head of Service Operations, you will:
- Plan, develop, author and/or facilitate delivery of new or existing content for operational processes and procedures
- Manage updates and revisions of authored content
- Collaborate with business subject matter experts and process analysts to form a good understanding of business knowledge needs, and support all service delivery deliverables
- Collaborate with stakeholders to generate and deliver operational content in accordance with service level agreements / agreed timelines for scoped work
- Be creative in the use of images, infographics, diagrams, animations, process mapping and charts to increase knowledge user comprehension and understanding of content
The successful person will proactively look to build strong relationships with our teams and work collaboratively across the business.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Computer Science, Journalism, or Communication
- Experience in the human services industry (community care or health care)
- 3+ years practical experience in a similar role required
- Excellent writing and research skills, and a strong eye for detail, language, and flow
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and work on multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in dynamic team environment
- Strong ability to work in ambiguous situations
- Forward looking with a holistic approach
- Problem solving and root cause identification skills
- An ability to work effectively at all levels in an organisation
- Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
