We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Cost Controller to join the team at Gladstone, Fisherman’s Landing – our largest manufacturing site.
In this newly created role, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager in achieving day to day commercial goals, through providing accounting and administration support, precise data, and financial insights, with the opportunity to get stuck into enhancing the financial reporting and analysis processes. This will include spending time with various departments onsite to support budget development, improve tracking sheets, and streamline month end processes.

About the role:
The role will be 50 / 50 day to day accounting tasks, and ‘improvement projects’ working directly with the site teams. Specifically, in this role you will:
- Play a crucial role in enhancing the financial reporting and analysis processes to ensure timely and accurate representation against the income statement and profit and loss report
- Provide precise data and financial insights to aid the Gladstone site's ability to make impactful decisions
- In collaboration with the Commercial Manager, investigate accounting discrepancies and irregularities, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of variances
- Work closely with Budget Owners, facilitating accurate and timely financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting. Using your proactivity and initiative you will identify opportunity for process improvements
- Identify and communicate cost optimization opportunities, contributing to operational efficiency
- Perform vital ancillary functions such as managing the site's asset register, overseeing capital disposals, capitalizations, and depreciations, and obtaining approvals accordingly
- Conducting post-reviews of major capital projects to validate delivered benefits
- Handle monthly accrual inputs and reconciliations, exercise cost control/tracking for critical projects and major shutdowns, and report findings and recommendations from internal/external audits to management
- Financial management - oversee net working capital and stock management analysis, ensuring a strategic approach to optimizing resources
- Manage the site's annual R&D tax claim
- Ensure adherence to HARP and other accounting policies and standards
- Assist Commercial Manager in other required finance/accounting tasks as required
