About the Role: 

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Software Developer in either Perth or Sydney, with a passion for software development and a keen interest in AI. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that leverage AI technologies to solve real-world problems. Duties & Tasks:

  1. Collaborate with senior developers to design, develop, and maintain .NET-based applications.
  2. Assist in the implementation of AI algorithms and models into software solutions.
  3. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  4. Troubleshoot and debug software issues as they arise.
  5. Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI and software development techniques.
  6. Contribute ideas and solutions to improve the efficiency and performance of our products.
  7. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions on time.

Key Challanges:

This role can often encounter a steep learning curve as you familiarise yourself  with new programming languages, frameworks, tools, and development methodologies. This can be overwhelming at times, requiring dedication and persistence to overcome.

Essential criteria: 

At minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or other higher-level supporting qualifications in software development. Other higher-level qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis so please apply. If invited for interview, you may be questioned about your experience and your understanding of software development.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  2. Strong proficiency in .NET programming languages (C# preferred).
  3. Familiarity with AI concepts and technologies, such as machine learning and neural networks.
  4. Experience with AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus.
  5. Knowledge of software development best practices, including agile methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

We will pay towards the upper end of the pay scale for the following capabilities:

  • Additional languages spoken; however fluent English is essential.
  • CargoWise skills e.g., already a CargoWise Certified Professional with extensive Supply Chain experience.
  • Interest or exposure to machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc., can be valuable for roles involving AI development or data-driven applications.
  • Understanding of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design principles to create intuitive and visually appealing software interfaces.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices for automating software development, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
  • Awareness of cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for deploying and scaling applications in the cloud.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills, along with a creative flair for storytelling and content creation.
