The Hume Region delivers a range of services through Justice Service Centres at Wangaratta, Shepparton, and Wodonga and at and also has two prisons, the minimum-security Beechworth Correctional Centre, and H.M. Prison Dhurringile.
The Corporate Governance and Support Business unit is responsible for providing the region with a range of corporate support functions including human resources, finance, and procurement, planning and reporting, administration, and workforce development.
About the role
The Justice Officer - Administration works with the varied business units at the Justice Service Centre and provides accurate and timely administrative support services for the different business areas at the location. The role has a strong focus on service delivery to clients, internal and external stakeholders and also into the public.
Administrative duties may include responding to over the counter enquiries from staff or from the general public, providing information and assistance with matters relating to DJCS portfolio, assisting with correspondence management (e.g. Court documents / fines / Birth Deaths & Marriages submissions) and the maintenance of a range of electronic information and filing systems.
Dependent upon location, this position will require direct prisoner contact and may involve after hours, weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.

About you
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Experience within an administrative capacity within a government department would be advantageous
- Experience using a records management system (TRIM / HPE Records Manager)
- Experience in managing reception duties.
