About Us: At the Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP), each Justice Officer role specialises in one of five streams – Property, Records, Human Resources, Finance/Stores and Administration.
Over time, and with appropriate support and training, Justice Officers may be rotated between these streams to provide career enhancement opportunities to those staff, and operational flexibility to the prison. The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice.
MAP consists of the prison, the custody facilities at the County, Supreme and Appeal Courts and holding cells at St Vincent's Hospital for prisoners requiring outpatient medical treatment. About the Role: The Justice Officer is an entry-level position to a career in corporate services in the Department's eight Regions, through which the compliance, enforcement and regulatory services are provided to the Victorian community. In a Justice Service Centre environment, a Justice Officer provides a combination of reception and concierge functions, and administrative and business support services.
