Madras Link is a leading provider of Homewares, Flooring and home decor accessories based in Melbourne. We are currently looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, committed and growth minded Key Account Manager/Business Development to drive growth with some existing Corporate Accounts and develop new accounts, within the Homewares, Rugs, Doormats, Flooring and other categories.
Our products are prominent within and targeted to the Homewares market including major retailers such as David Jones, Harris Scarfe, Myer, Bunnings, Mitre 10, and others.
Reporting to the COO/National Sales Manager, you will be a self starter with:
- A strong sales background (essential).
- Experienced Key Account Manager.
- Experienced in New Business Development and Growth targeting.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong operational acumen.
- Gather market intelligence for feedback.
- Be passionate about Homewares and Flooring.
- Experienced in Sourcing Flooring products (not essential, however desirable).
Your Responsibilities include:
- Planning and managing the sales account relationship between the business and its Key existing and prospective flooring and homewares, corporate customers.
- Developing a trust relationship with major clients to ensure that the Company’s position as supplier is maintained, enhanced, and achieves organic and new business growth targets.
- Acquiring a thorough understanding of key customer needs/requirements, and continuously proposing new products and obtaining new business.
- Proactively focusing on developing and converting new accounts.
- Achieving assigned and budgeted sales targets and business goals.
- Responsible for submissions and tenders as part of the whole sales process.
- Ensuring products supplied are followed through and delivered to the customers in a timely manner.
- Resolving any challenges of supply faced by the customers and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring the Company’s stated objectives with regard to nominated accounts profit margins are achieved.
- Gathering and evaluating business intelligence and monitoring competitor activity.
- Preparing regular reports on progress and forecasts to the COO/NSM as and when required.
- Being abreast of new products and trends in order to source new products to offer customers on a regular basis.
- Collaborating with the Design and Buying team, as directed, to ensure that the right products are developed to meet the needs of Key Account customers.
- Visit Key Account stores as needed to support growth, conduct product and category reviews, and relationship development with key store staff throughout Australia to support maximisation of sell through.
- Other related tasks/duties that are required to fulfil the above functions successfully.
KAM's / BDM's from other categories other than homewares or flooring are also encouraged to apply.
