Role: The Kitchen Hand works under the supervision of the higher level kitchen staff. The main objective of the Kitchen Hand is to maintain clean equipment, dishes and cutlery for the kitchen and café to run smoothly. It is also imperative that the Kitchen Hand maintains a very high health and safety standard as per the requirements of the business.
Primary duties include:
- Support day to day operation of the kitchen
- Maintain and clean kitchen facilities and equipment
- Keep all kitchen surfaces clean and sanitised
- Keep pots and pans, dishes clean and organised
- Clean out cool rooms and prep areas and remove rubbish
- Ensure all dishes are sanitised and cleaned per health standards and that equipment is functioning correctly
Additional duties include:
- Assist chefs in food preparation if and when required
- Assist production chefs with packing and refilling of shelves
