The City is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to take on the role of kitchen hand. In this position you will assist in the preparation, cooking and packing of meals, in addition to performing cleaning duties and assisting with maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment. This position involves weekday work with hours of operation varying between 6:30am – 2:30pm.
Key Responsibilities The duties of the Kitchenhand will include but are not limited to: Managing regular packing and distribution activities which involve manual handling and working in a refrigerated environment for extended periods. Communicating effectively with customers, employees, and other volunteers in a team environment.
Identifying and reporting irregularities in customer status and routine. Assisting in cleaning of the kitchen in accordance with food safety program. Reports any hygiene or maintenance issues as required.
About You The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role.
Please apply, all applications will be considered. Certificate in Food Safe Supervision. Effective organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage own work.
Experience using kitchen equipment. Understanding of the dietary needs of aged clients. Experience working in aged care environment.

Employee recognition program. This temporary full-time position is a Level 1 Inside Workforce Agreement which attracts a salary from $51,973.70 - $58,497.36 per annum plus superannuation. To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a: A copy of Australian Driver's Licence.
National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months). Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance. The right to work in Australia.
