Camp Utility - Kitchenhand/Site Cleaner

We are an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. Located in the Eastern Wheatbelt region of WA, Southern Cross Operations is the flagship operation for the company and holds a tenement package of approximately 1,400km2 with significant exploration potential. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, one active underground mine, two active open pits and new mine opportunities on the horizon.

This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for current and future growth. As a Kitchenhand/Site Cleaner in our business, you will be required to be flexible in your approach to your work and be able to cover leave of current employees. Working a 2/2 roster, BIBO from Perth.

The Role: Kitchenhand

• Work alongside chef assisting on general kitchen duties
• Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables and desserts, according to Chefs instructions, following approved procedures
• Ensure food presentation, product presentation and meal service is to a high standard
• Maintain a high standard of cleaning processes
• Clean and maintain dining room tables and floors in good, clean and presentable condition
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware
• Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas
• Be able to work rotating day/night shift
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety practices

The Role: Site Cleaner

• Carry out cleaning activities including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, hosing, wiping, disinfecting and waste removal of designated facility areas, crib rooms and change rooms. 
• Restock and maintain crib rooms and change rooms with items such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, hand towel, toilet paper, soap dispensers etc 
• Notify management of deficiencies and needs for repairs
• Internal and external cleaning of company vehicles as required
• Ensure that all cleaning is maintained in accordance to the site management
• Carry out special cleaning projects and undertake other duties as directed by your site management

You must have a current WA driver’s licence and be able to pass pre-employment checks including a full medical, drug, and alcohol testing, and a police clearance.
