Job description:
The Role :
We are seeking applications from suitable Laboratory Assistantsto join the team at Northern Health in either a part time or full time capacity.
These roles will be responsible for the receiving, sorting, preparing and transport of specimens for analysis; assisting with the registration of pathology requests into the laboratory information system; performing laboratory investigations and general laboratory duties as directed by senior staff. As well assisting with mortuary duties will be a requirement of the position.
The part time and full time positions involve working a rotating roster that includes morning, afternoon, overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts. In addition, there will be a requirement to participate in the on-call roster.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Must have the ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
- Participate in the on call roster
