An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Laboratory Assistant to join the Farm Pride team at our Keysborough site.
This Laboratory Assistant role will report to the Laboratory and QA Co-ordinator and will be required to monitor and conduct testing by following laboratory processes and procedures to ensure product quality and food safety are maintained at all times.
The core duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure all products are sampled and tested in accordance with the Product Testing Schedules and in accordance with the SOP’s.
- Perform Microbiological sampling and testing of Shell Eggs and Egg Products
- Perform Microbiological Testing of Environmental swabs
- Perform Physical and Chemical testing
- Participate in proficiency programs
- Perform all House Keeping duties to ensure cross contamination issues are controlled.
- Record all analysis results and product releases
- Report Out of Specification results
- Perform Calibrations of instruments
- Keep a check on consumables and media stock levels
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Ideally a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/Microbiology or Equivalent experience
- Trained in Microbiological Techniques in Food Manufacturing or Food Testing
- Be a team player with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficient OHS knowledge/understanding
- Excellent record keeping and documentation skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
