Our client is a boutique contract testing and formulation laboratory based on the south-west side of Brisbane. They are currently seeking a part-time Laboratory Assistant to support their ongoing project work.
Working hours are expected to be 2-3 days per week, ~15 hrs between Monday to Friday and there is some flexibility to dictate your own hours. This is a part-time role that will be engaged as a casual contract but has the opportunity to become permanent.
The position is to start in early June and will report to the R&D Chemist. The role will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Data entry and report writing;
- Sample receipt and dispatch;
- Some basic laboratory techniques such as pH and physical testing;
- Assist with Stability and Validation trials
- Be responsible for Workplace Health and Safety;
- Manage maintenance and calibration of equipment;
- Maintaining laboratory stock levels;
- Buffer preparation.
Skills & Experience:
The successful applicant must have:
- A Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor of Science;
- A car and a license is mandatory as the site is not accessible via public transport.
- A solid understanding of Chemistry and related analytical techniques;
- High attention to detail and very good communication skills;
- Good quality assurance and documentation skills;
- Excellent computer skills – Microsoft office essential with previous database or LIMS experience highly desired;
- Knowledge of chemical safety, storage requirements and SDS interpretation;
- APVMA knowledge or experience beneficial but not critical;
