Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant / Trainee Hazardous Materials Consultant to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in supporting our consulting projects by assisting with various laboratory tasks related to Hazardous Materials testing and analysis. Experience in the Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials field would be ideal, however the successful applicant will need to show a willingness to learn new skills and a motivation to build a career in the field.  

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform sample preparation and labelling in accordance with established protocols
  • Conduct various laboratory analyses under the supervision of senior staff
  • Maintain accurate records of test results and data, ensuring data integrity and traceability
  • Assist in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous
  • Conducting assessments of residential and commercial sites 
  • Producing reports of various scopes and detail

About you

L&D are looking for a candidate with the following attributes:

  • A keen interest in Occupation Hygiene and workplace exposure issues, and be driven to continue in ongoing learning and development;
  • Excellent verbal and reporting ability showing attention to detail;
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically;
  • Ability to communicate with clients and other key stakeholders;
  • Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office skills;
  • A valid drivers licence;
  • Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
