L&D Canberra are offering a full-time position for a Trainee Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials Consultant to join our team.
The role is open to a wide range of candidates with in-house training to be provided. The salary for the role will be competitive but will be dictated by the candidates knowledge and experience.
Experience in the Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials field would be ideal, however the successful applicant will need to show a willingness to learn new skills and a motivation to build a career in the field.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting assessments of residential and commercial sites
- Producing reports of various scopes and detail
- Conducting air monitoring for various airborne contaminants
- Undertaking laboratory analysis of filters and bulk samples for asbestos
- Assistance with maintaining L&D’s quality management systems under ISO 17025 and ISO 9001
About you
L&D are looking for a candidate with the following attributes:
- A keen interest in Occupation Hygiene and workplace exposure issues, and be driven to continue in ongoing learning and development;
- Excellent verbal and reporting ability showing attention to detail;
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment;
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically;
- Ability to communicate with clients and other key stakeholders;
- Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office skills;
- A valid drivers licence;
- Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
