We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join one of our clients for an immediate start.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing support in the Formulations and Laboratory area
- Work is carried out in a timely manner in line with demand or production requests, and comprises calibration and maintenance of equipment, accurately documenting work performed and maintaining laboratory consumable stock levels
- Ensuring samples are completed in a timely manner and correct methods, procedures and work instructions are used and adhered to
- Handling a lot of dyes and stains as part of the ABS manufacture as well as organic solvents like ethanol, acetone and xylene
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes
- Manufacturing and packing laboratory chemical products such as scientific standards and reagents, as per the formulation
- Ensure product quality by assisting in the review and maintenance of product documentation and performing analytical testing
Experience Required
We are seeking applications from candidates who bring:
- Qualifications in Chemical Sciences or a closely related field is highly regarded
- General laboratory experience with emphasis on wet chemistry techniques is highly desirable, as well as an understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Previous experience working in a commercial chemistry laboratory environment would be highly regarded
- Sound knowledge of WHS practices and requirements for a laboratory
- Previous experience working in manufacturing under ISO or HACCP quality systems would be highly regarded
- Competence with computer-based administration, record keeping and production systems
- An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
- A willingness to adhere to organisational policies and procedures
- A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member
- Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
