Our Energy Minerals Division provides high-quality, independent coal analysis and services to many Australian and international coal companies. We have NATA accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) coal laboratories servicing all major coal ports in Australia and have significant involvement with the superintending of coal exported overseas, quality control at mine sites / power plants and borecore evaluation. Our tech services provide mechanical sampling design and commissioning for all bulk particulate materials.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide and maintain a high quality of accurate and timely work.
  • Preparing/analysing accurate, precise and traceable results.
  • The use of basic Excel/CCLAS/reporting systems.
  • Prioritisation of urgent samples and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring daily and weekly KPIs are met.
  • Operation of analytical, manual analytical and preparation equipment (training provided).
  • Contributing to a safe workplace by conducting risk assessments, addressing hazards and implementing improvements by following administrative safety processes.
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment (training provided).

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Proficient with Excel
  • Great working in a team environment
  • Ability to work shift work, rosters and some weekends if required
  • Previous coal sampling and testing experience (highly regarded)
  • Experience with chemicals and handing of acids (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a general mineral laboratory (highly regarded)
  • Experience using CCLAS (preferred)
