About This Opportunity
The Laboratory Technician is crucial in the effective operation of the Science Facilities, particularly the laboratories. This position provides support to the Science Leader of Learning and Science teachers in maintaining preparation rooms and laboratories in a safe, orderly and hygienic condition in accordance with Work Health Safety guidelines and is responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies used in the teaching of science.
We are seeking a suitably qualified Laboratory Technician to join our team on a permanent part-time, term-time basis. You must be available to work 40 hours per fortnight with days/times as negotiated with the Science Leader of Learning and Business Manager.
As the appointment is a term-time only position, working term-time plus 3 weeks (approximately 40 weeks), all non-term times are taken as leave without pay other than the period of annual leave, which is taken during the Christmas school holiday period.

About You
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Qualifications in relevant scientific field with some experience in laboratory procedures and working with chemicals.
- Sound knowledge of operating laboratory equipment.
- Apply knowledge of safety requirements for working with chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Well organised and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team, with teachers and Curriculum Leader Science.
