About the role
Mater Mothers’ Hospital is currently searching for a Lactation Consultant within the Breastfeeding Support Unit to join us for a 3-month contract. This position is offered on a part time basis (15.20 hours a week).
Mater Mothers' Hospitals are leaders in the provision of high-quality maternity and newborn services for the people of Queensland and northern New South Wales. Providing exceptional care and support of women and their families, Mater Mothers' Hospitals offer integrated services covering obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and maternal fetal medicine.
Salary range: $52.63 - $56.38 (RN2) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you'll be doing
As an integral member of the team you will be a part of providing a collaborative service across Mater Health Services, including the provision of individual and group breastfeeding support and education for staff and families, with a special focus for those accessing our well-baby service.
About you
To be successful in your application for this position it is essential that you have:
- Current Midwifery registration and IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) qualification
- Sound knowledge of BFHI (Baby Friendly Health Initiative) implementation and accreditation
- Your experience in the area of full term babies and breastfeeding support is desirable
- As well as a demonstrated interest in the area of neonatology and preterm infants
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience and interest providing education whilst in the role of Lactation Consultant
