We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced General Practitioner Midwife & Lactation Consultant for our Maternity Clinic. The successful applicants for the GPLC role will provide midwifery and breastfeeding support services at Riverlink Family Practice - Maternity Clinic. The applicant will be responsible for providing education and support to all areas of Maternity Services where needed. They will have an understanding of the principles of the Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) and will be responsible for the delivery of evidence based high quality breastfeeding care and education to the women and her partner as well as to their colleagues within the Program. The GPLC is responsible for liaising with members of the multidisciplinary team where appropriate.
Qualifications & experience
- IBCLC - International Board Certified Lactation Consultants
- Bachelor of Midwifery - Endorsed
- AHPRA registration
Tasks & responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to women during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods.
- Conduct antenatal and postnatal assessments.
- Educate and support patients and their families on maternity care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
- New Born Baby checks
- Breastfeeding support, infant sleep and help with common baby issues
